Membership

General:

To be able to use the airfield and infrastructure, to fly our aircraft and gliders or to do aerotow behind the club towplane, a membership in the club is required.

Termination of membership:

A full membership needs to be terminated by the member to the end of the running year. Guest and short-term memberships will automatically end after the validity period. 
 Members joining the club with the aim of a full membership will be under trial for the first year. After the end of the year the club board will decide if the full membership status will be given.
 The club board has the right to terminate the membership of a member. Reasons that may lead to a termination are e.g. non-conformity with the rules of this document or any legislation. In case of a termination there will be no refund of membership fees.

Administrative Rules

Documents for active flying members:

  • Club registration form (filled and signed)
  • Copy of the valid licence
  • Copy of a valid medical
  • Copy of ID / Passport
  • Copy of the last logbook pages to verify licence validity
  • Statement about the current flying experience / validity of licence

All these documents need to be given to the club before flying without an instructor. 
Any new or updated documents shall be sent to the club before next flight.

Flight documentation:

  • All flights of club aircraft/gliders have to be documented:
     - for gliding: in the daily flight list 
     - for aircraft / TMG: in the flight log of the aircraft 
                                    (with the counter time, landings and fuel added).
  • A picture of the flight list shall be sent to the club office at the end of each day.
  • Completed flight lists shall be left at the office at Ineu.
  • The glider and aircraft logbooks have to be written by the end of every flying day.
     One entry to cover all flights of one day is possible.

 Club Work:

  • Club work will be credited as listed in the price list.
  • For the discount mentioned in the price list, the work of the last 12 months is considered.
     e.g. for a flight in April, all working hours after 1st April of the previous year will be considered.
  • It’s the responsibility of each member to log and report the working hours to the club board. The club board will keep the list with the work hours for credit.
  • Working hours of family members and friends can be credited 100%.
  • Tasks in direct relation to flying activity (e.g towing, etc.) are not considered to be club work. Flight instructor duty for the club can be credited as club work.
  • Members who pay the yearly cost of a club glider/plane will be credited with 100h club work for that year.

Accounting:

  • The membership fee will be invoiced by the beginning of each year or with the first invoice for flying.
  • Flying and aerotows will be invoiced every 1-3 month.

Club related documents:

  • Club documents, flight manuals, manuals for equipment, flight logs, club mails etc. are available online on the aerodrome website.

Priority on usage of airplanes and gliders:

  • Members with full membership have priority to guest or short-term members, if the glider/aircraft is not specifically rented to them (Holiday guests).
  • Members with the higher amount of working hours or owners of the aircraft have priority.
  • These rules apply until 10:00 local time, thereafter first come – first serve.

 Insurance liability for club airplane and gliders:

All our fleet is insured over the minimum requirement to operate. The more valuable material also has a Kasko/Hull insurance. All our insurances have a deductible in case of a damage, this deductible is the maximum liability of the member in case of a damage.

Operational Rules

General Rules:

  • The gliders and aircraft have to be cleaned and stored carefully after each flying day.
  • Any technical issues or damages have to be reported immediately.
  • A pre-flight check has to be carried out at least before the first flight of the day. 
  • Any technical issues, malfunctions and cosmetic items on club airplanes and gliders shall be reported to the club board.
  • The pilot in command (PIC) is always sitting on the front (left) seat. The only exception are flight instructors, they may also act as PIC from the rear (right) seat.
  • It is appreciated that longer local and cross-country flights in gliders are uploaded to WeGlide and OLC, no matter for which club the flight is scored.

Flying currency:

  • At least one check flight with an instructor per calendar year is mandatory, most probably at the beginning of the season before the first flight.
  • Pilots who have not been flying in the aircraft category in the last 5 months require a check flight with instructor before flying as PIC.
  • The minimum requirements according to EASA 1178/2011 and Part SFCL have to be fulfilled, these are:
    • 15 flights, 5 hours and two flights with an FI(S) in the past 24 months for gliders
    • 12 flights, 12h, 6h TMG and 1h FI(S) check flight in the past 24 month for TMG
    • 12 flights, 12 hours, 1h FI(A) check flight in the past 24 months for LAPL(A) holders
    • A valid class rating for PPL(A) holders
  • To take passengers a minimum of 3 flights in the last 90 days is required.
  • Holders of a LAPL(A) or SPL shall give their logbook for verification of licence validity at least once within the validity period of the last verification. Validity will be noted in a list in the briefing room.
  • For all flights the medical class 1, 2 or LAPL needs to be valid.
  • Every pilot should check his currency before flying. If the pilot is out of flying currency he has to fly with an instructor or get a flight order for a local flight.

Launch operations:

  • Aerotow:           Aerotows without somebody holding the wingtip shall be avoided.
  • Winch Launch: Winch launch with water ballast is not permitted.

Competition / Holiday operations:

  • All club operated gliders and airplanes can be borrowed for competitions, holidays, camps, etc. The club board shall be notified and shall give permission prior taking a glider or aircraft to the event.

Flight training:

  • The responsibility for flight training is in the hands of ALB Aviation Training DTO
  • The DTO will give guidelines how training has to be carried out.

Rules for club glider and aircraft usage:

  • Only club members can act as PIC.
  • Pilots of the club should make themselves familiar with the Flight Manual of the aircraft/glider before flying. The manuals can be downloaded at the internal page (member area) on the website.
  • To act as PIC a type training with an instructor is necessary, he has to give a release to fly the aircraft.
  • To take passengers a minimum of experience and a release by an instructor is required.
  • Recent and frequent flying experience is appreciated.
  • For cross-country flights a minimum number of 5 landings on the type or a similar type is appreciated.

Close relatives and friends are not considered as passengers, they can be taken for a flight at the member price. However if passengers, guest, friends or relatives give any donation over the amount invoiced for the flight, it shall be in the benefit of the club to maintain the fleet and infrastructure.
